IT Technician & Helpdesk Support

We are seeking a customer first focused IT Technician to oversee all IT needs at our fast-paced, growing agencies. This is a unique opportunity in being the sole IT person overseeing all IT needs across four office locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Los Angeles. The IT Technician will troubleshoot and maintain the company's servers, workstations, software applications and networking hardware, while also assisting with technical elements related to agency projects as needed.   • Acting as main point of contact for all IT related needs/issues including new employee set up (local and remote),

  • Administering web and e-mail services onto mobile phones (iOS, Android).

3D Designer

MKG West is looking for a 3D/2D experiential designer with a focus on art direction and environmental spaces. This multi-talented designer reports into the Head of Design and will lead projects for high-profile clients, be a part of a larger design team on multi-prong, larger programs, manage multiple projects/tasks at once and design interns as needed, and be a collaborative and strong voice for the design team at MKG West.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

IDEATION: Develop concepts through inspirational mood boards, napkin sketching, mock-ups and collaborative brainstorming (internally and externally). Work with Creative team on concept development for programmed elements in the space, often working from a winning proposal deck.

3D DESIGN: Attend site visits with clients and conduct site surveys to create scaled floor plans with programmed design and experiential elements. Model in 3D space for a final outcome of environmental renderings complete with texture, lighting and experiential elements. Understand material and fabrication processes to create build mechanicals & material spec’ing for custom scenic and environmental designs, integrating tech, lighting and more. Source and style furniture and props to add to the brand story.

2D DESIGN: Utilize Adobe CC to create or work alongside a graphic designer to create graphics of all scales - from large-scale environmental branding to the digital invitation or social post. Follow through with print file prep and production, as well as approving proofs and communicating with specialty vendors.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Manage internal spreadsheets, external vendors, design budgeting and project timeline for midsize projects to keep on track and hit important agency and client deadlines. Work alongside project designers, whether full-time or contract, and often under an Associate Senior or Senior Designer on large-scale projects. Work alongside and collaborate with contract project workers, such as lighting designers, graphic animators, technical directors, and more.

COMMUNICATION: Create and manage client-ready presentation decks featuring design/creative work: mood boards, floor plans, renderings, mockups, graphics, furniture/prop selects, and various other project-related items. Communicate internally with Production, Creative, Business Development and Operations teams, as well as sell ideas and creative design work to clients, collaborative agencies, and more.

The position will be responsible for producing large-scale programs for MKG’s Los Angeles Office, and also assist the Director of Production in overseeing smaller scale projects and freelance production staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Skillfully producing large-scale MKGW Events/Programs including, but not limited to:

    • Developing and managing event budgets and reconciling budgets post event; meet profit goals.
    • Develop project documentation including: deliverable timelines, production schedules, run of show, etc.
    • Sourcing venues and vendors and negotiating contracts with venues and vendors.
    • Liaising with in-house Creative, Design and Operations divisions.
    • Obtaining City permits
    • Managing vendor relationships and deliverables to ensure seamless execution and highest quality.
    • Managing day-to-day relationship with client, strategically meeting client needs and managing expectations.

    The Freelance Associate Producer will support Producers and Senior Producers on individual agency projects as contracted in our New York Office. Project management and attention to detail are central to this position.     Freelance-to-Perm Lead Machinist / CNC Operator

    Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the CNC operator will be responsible for Operating, Maintaining and programming our CNC router in a fast paced scenic shop environment. CNC Operator will manage communications with and file workflow from draftsperson to ensure timely and accurate execution of all CNC cut files. CNC Operator will maintain ideal Machining parameters through machine maintenance and safe operations. Machinist will maintain Clear Communication with Fabrication Manager for inventory optimization and table time management. A keen eye for Detail and Strict adherence to Precision oriented mechanical processes are essential traits of the ideal operator.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Program and run CNC programs on a Laguna Smartshop II machine
    • Program and nest in V-Carve Pro
    • Maintaining tool crib inventory and equipment maintenance schedules
    • Lifting large format sheet and laminate materials up to 5’ X 10’
    • Maintaining CNC area cleanliness and project specific organization
    • Organizing and managing workflow according to project deadlines.
